The Perkins-Prothro Corrals

 Posted by Picasa

These corrals are still there but have went through a lot of changes through the years. The fences are all pipe now. The roof at the top right was torn down in the mid 1960s. The stalls were torn down also and rebuilt. The building on the left (the Cake house) is still there but now has a door on this side and metal siding. In 1972 a tornado took the roof off the stalls and they had to be rebuilt. As a boy, I spent many of hours playing in and around those barns. We often played a game of tag in which you could not touch the ground. You had to move around on the fences. This picture doesn't begin to show how big these pens are.

Dusty, Jade, Sam and I all played those same games in the 90's. That place holds alot of memories.
